At the corner of Panská and Radnická streets there is a niche which was in the past decorated with sculptures. We want to draw attention to this historical circumstance through a work of art that is processed in a modern way: it draws on the principles of geometric abstraction. Nevertheless, its subject is concrete, depicting a stylised female figure holding a child, a traditional subject that has appeared in the history of art for centuries. This theme has had various interpretations, and in the run-up to Christmas we are not averse to one that seeks to answer the question of what a contemporary Madonna might look like.
