Christmas tree

The tradition of public Christmas trees in our country began in 1924 thanks to the writer Rudolf Těsnohlídka, who, inspired by Copenhagen, introduced this custom, and since then the Christmas tree on Svobody Square has been an irreplaceable symbol of Christmas markets in Brno. This year, this important role is being played by a white fir tree from the university forests of Mendel University in Brno, where the trees have originated for a hundred years.
