Children's Christmas Tram

In Brno, nobody calls a tram anything other than a shalina. The word originated either as a corruption of the German term "elektrische Linie" or from the German word "schallen" (to sound). The new attraction of Brno Christmas invites you to the terrace of St. Michael's Church for a ride in a special chalet in the colours of Brno. Let the children ride to places where the regular public transport does not go.

Hole / design studio Street Dog

The basic concept of the light object is the illusion of space using the visual principle of an infinite mirror. A total of 18,000 LEDs are the source of light moving geometric shapes that multiply in the mirrored surface of the object with a diameter of 3 meters. This creates the illusion of deep space - a digital flow. With its circular shape and light animation, the object refers to the inlets and outlets [...]

Via Adventus (2024) / Pavel Korbička

Pavel Korbička's work deals with issues related to space and light. He also enters the space of St. James Church with a new light installation. At first glance, however, the simple neon line has its justification. The trough works with the symbolism of the gradually illuminating pilgrim's staff of St. James, installed in the central part of the main nave of the church. This staff consists of four [...]

What you are, we will be too (2024) / Hynek Skoták

Hynek Skoták was inspired by an easily overlooked alleyway that leads to the Capuchin Crypt just a short distance from the bustling Zelný trg. In the 17th and 18th centuries, it was used to bury the brothers and benefactors of the order, which still resides in the adjacent monastery. Symbolically, it points to the fact that the alley connects the busy world of the living with that in which our ancestors rested. As a symbol that [...]

Woman and Child (2024) / Martin Skalický

At the corner of Panská and Radnická streets there is a niche that was in the past decorated with sculptures. We want to draw attention to this historical circumstance through a work of art that is processed in a modern way: it draws on the principles of geometric abstraction. Nevertheless, its subject is concrete, depicting a stylised female figure holding a child, a traditional subject that has appeared in the history of art for centuries. This [...]
